THE STORY BEHIND THE YARD
ROOTED IN LEGACY.
BUILT FOR WHAT'S NEXT.
The Legacy Yard began with a bond that existed long before the business—family, sisterhood, and a legacy passed from one generation to the next.
OUR STORY

The Legacy Yard was born from family, sisterhood, and the traditions passed down through generations. Founded by two cousins, line sisters, and built on proud legacies, our story honors the women who came before us while creating something meaningful for those who come next.
WHERE IT BEGAN
The Legacy Yard’s story reaches back even further than one induction day. Cathy Ingram’s earliest introduction to the world of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated came through Eva Kay Williams, the stepdaughter of Cathy’s great-grandfather. Cathy spent time with Eva Kay on weekends, giving her an early glimpse into the sisterhood, traditions, and lasting influence of Zeta Phi Beta.
That early connection eventually became part of Cathy’s own journey. In Spring 1997, she was initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. As a young girl, Margaret witnessed the warm reception Cathy received as the women of Zeta Phi Beta embraced her and welcomed her into a sisterhood that would continue embracing her family’s legacies for generations to come.
Through the years, the Blue and White Family became woven into their family story from Blue Revue debutantes and youth auxiliaries to future members of the sisterhood, including two grandsons connected to Zeta’s constitutionally bound brother organization, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.
Bonita’s love for Zeta Phi Beta began during a step show at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She watched one Finer Woman take the brightly lit stage alone and command the attention of the entire city. At the time, Bonita did not know that the legacy of Blue and White was already within her.
Although both Margaret’s and Bonita’s dreams were deferred during college, neither lost sight of Blue and White. Then, on October 25, 2025, Zeta welcomed them with open arms. Margaret and Bonita were inducted into the sisterhood alongside Alicia Montgomery, another legacy of Cathy Ingram, with Cathy herself present to witness and support the moment.
That day, three branches of one family legacy came together through sisterhood. It was clear that God had taken His time, perfectly curating a legacy with the love, purpose, and power to impact the world. From that legacy, The Legacy Yard was born.
